Name

Peter Chan

Age 46
Club Position Head coach
Month / Year joined A&T

2007 Saw A&T at the Chorley park race and knew it was what I was looking for.

Years Running

26 years my first race was the Wigan Pier fun run in 1984. I was shocked at how fast they set off but was hooked.

Favourite Race/s

London Marathon

Favourite Distance

Its varied over the years and used to be the Half but I seem to do better over 10k these days.. I like the Marathon too but one a year is enough.

Toughest sporting achievement to date

Has to be London 2010 … 26 miles and 3hrs of agony.

Running / Sporting Ambitions / Goals

I’d love to get close to a 2.40 marathon but its getting harder to stay injury free and hit the miles needed for that.

Any other interests, sports, hobbies.

F1 fanatic for 30 years, I like a round of Golf, I quite fancy cycling a bit more as I really enjoyed the Duathlon series, Wigan Athletic (it’s like football but different), Coaching Robin and Louise which so makes me realize just how slow I am now over 200m.

Most memorable event that you have experienced (in sport or in general)

Can’t say on here heh heh

Sporting Icon

I loved the passion and ruthlessness of Ayrton Senna. Lance Armstrong is an amazing performer, very focussed and very tough. Seb Coe’s kick in the final 200m of races was an awesome sight but overall I’d have to pick Haile Gebreselassie for being at the top of a tough sport for nearly 20 years and always wearing a smile on his face – plus he is double Olympic 10,000m Champion, run 3.31 for 1500 and a 2.03 marathon and has broken 50 odd world records  --- AMAZING.

Anything else you want to add Always do what you do from the heart and don’t do anything by halves.
