After an almost 30 year career in club cricket I took up road running some 6 or 7 years ago, initially to get fit for the National 3 peaks walking challenge.Other members of staff at work, who were already keen runners, dragged me along and I became acquainted with Ron Hill who worked for our company as Consultant.In my early days of running, I remember one particularly painful experience with Ron, when he took up into the hills behind Salt Lake City at 6 in the morning. I've had my share of injuries since I started but the bug has well and truly taken root and I can't do without my fix. Luckliy I combine family life with running as my wife Carole joined A&T last year and my youngest daughter Cerys is a junior at Leigh Harriers. I have 2 other daughters - Carla who has been a member at Leigh Harriers since 1989 and Leann who is a natural runner, but refuses to train.
